NSAIDs
NSAID stands for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. This is a class of drugs which includes the likes of aspirin, ibuprofen, piroxicam, felbinac, ketoprofen and many others available on prescription only. The oral NSAID ingredients available over-the-counter (OTC) are aspirin and ibuprofen. Topical NSAID ingredients available OTC include ibuprofen, piroxicam and felbinac.
Topical NSAIDs can be given from 12 years of age onwards at the recommended dosage.
