Anadin Survey Reveals Handbag Contents

The contents of a woman's handbag can reveal a lot about her. According to a new survey by Anadin*, 1 in 4 women think that carrying a pain killer in their handbag is as essential as carrying a mobile phone or their keys1. The survey also revealed that pain impacts on all aspects of women's lives. At work, pain affected the performance of 28% of women1, whilst at home 32% were prevented from doing the housework at least once a month1. For 16% of women, pain impacted on their sex lives, with the highest incidence being in Northern Ireland - where 30% said that their pain stopped them from having sex1. However, only 9% of women in London would allow their aches and pains to encroach on their sex lives1!
After headache, back pain was the most common form of pain experienced on a weekly basis by over a third of all women surveyed - perhaps the reason why pain disrupts a good night's sleep for almost half of women (48%) at least once a month1.
