Migraine

Migraine headaches are a result of blood vessels in the back of the head and neck constricting. They are usually experienced as a throbbing pain on one side of the head accompanied with nausea and sensitivity to light. The factors that are associated with migraines are a family history of migraine, muscle tension and stress, lack of sleep, alcohol use and certain foods.

Painkillers containing ibuprofen can help. Ibuprofen works by stopping your body making chemicals called prostaglandins. These chemicals are made when you are in pain. Prostaglandins cause inflammation and make you more sensitive to pain. By stopping the production of prostaglandins, ibuprofen can reduce the pain of the migraine. Products like Anadin Ultra* (200mg Ibuprofen) can help, or for severe migraines Anadin Ultra* Double Strength 400mg Capsules (400mg Ibuprofen) can help to relieve the pain.
