MUSCLE PAIN
What is Muscle Pain?
Muscle Aches and Pains are common and can involve more than one muscle simultaneously, as well as ligaments, tendons, bones, organs and the soft tissues that connect muscles.
The pain can be related to tension or stress, overuse, or an injury from exercise or physically demanding work. In these situations, the pain tends to involve specific muscles and starts during or just after the activity.
Muscle Ache can also be a sign of an infection affecting your body, such as Flu.

Preventing Muscle Pain
- Always warm up before a gym session and don’t forget to do your stretching at the end.
- Massage: Works particularly well for muscle aches from overuse. Why not try a massaging oil?
- Build Gradually: Start out slowly and build up gradually in intensity and duration of activity. "Weekend athletes" are famous for trying to do too much, too soon. Don't fall into this trap
- Rest days: Your muscles need time to recover between training sessions.
- Be Prepared: Use the right equipment for each sport, be sure it's in good condition and is appropriate for your skill level.
- Rehydrate: Water is the best sports drink and you should drink plenty of it before, during and after exercise—especially in warm weather. Keep drinking it throughout the day
- Avoid Extremes: Try not to exercise outdoors in extreme hot or cold weather.
- Cool Down: Gradually decrease the intensity of your activity to restore a normal heart rate. Post-exercise stretching should not be overlooked.
Warning:
In a small number of cases, Muscle Pain may have a more serious underlying cause. You should seek medical advice if the pain is severe or if it lasts more than a couple of days.
