JOINT PAIN

What is Joint Pain?

Joint Pain can affect one or more joints and can be caused by many types of injuries or conditions. Common causes include (but are not limited to):

  • Unusual exertion or overuse, including strains and sprains.
  • Injury - including fracture.
  • Arthritic symptoms – stiffness, pain and restricted movement of the joints, as well as swelling, warmth and redness of the skin covering the joint, may occur.
  • Tendonitis (inflammation of a tendon).
  • Bursitis (inflammation of the fluid filled sacs that cushion and pad the bony prominences of the joints, allowing the muscles and tendons to move freely over the bone).

You should seek medical advice if the pain is severe.

Welcome relief

Try Anadin Joint Pain Ibuprofen 200mg tablets

The only oral over-the-counter painkiller to be intended solely for Joint Pain – it offers up to eight hours relief – when two tablets are taken.

Your Joint Pain kit:

  • Anadin Joint Pain: Take one to two tablets up to 3 times a day for fast effective relief.
  • Ice/cold pack or Thermacare: use ice packs for the first 48 hours and then Thermacare for swollen or painful joints.
  • Warm bath: This helps your body relax.
  • Gentle exercise: Exercise helps build muscle around your affected joint, which can support it and keep it flexible. Good activities include walking and swimming, as they’re easy to fit in every day. In addition, swimming is particularly suitable: it can help build strength with less strain, as your body is supported by the water.

Preventing Joint Pain

Eat well:

  • Keep hydrated: you should try to drink 8-10 glasses of water every day.
  • Eat plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grains, and when you eat meat, try to stick to leaner ones like poultry and fish.

Massage with oil:

  • Use eucalyptus oil to give painful joints a massage to help reduce swelling and inflammation and cut down pain. It’s particularly effective before and after exercise, or before bed, when stiff joints tend to be at their worse, but you can use it anytime.
